I’ve been visiting gyms for many years without progressing. A friend recommended Guy for his training approach, tailored to the individual, his enthusiasm and great results. I told Guy I wanted to increase my core strength for single-handed sailing and get advice on stretching to avoid injuries. An added but not expected bonus would be to be able to run again – I’ve had an un-diagnosed injury for the last 7 years. After a few months my core strength has increased to an unimagined level, my flexibility has greatly increased and I’ve started to run again with no pain.
Guy is constantly reading about exercise and health, and observing other athletes. His focus is on good form rather than useless repetitions, poorly executed. He is very patient, understanding and unendingly helpful, an elite athlete with a great sense of humour. He listens intently and always finds alternatives if there are problems with particular exercises. He is happy to offer help with injuries including recommending different approaches and therapies and has an amazing knowledge of anatomy. I look forward to each training session and every one is different. I hope to continue training with Guy until well into my 90’s!
